I have had lower back pain forever...mainly because in my younger days I took a lot of abuse (car accidents, motocross riding, and various other things I did cause I was "invincible"

). now I'm 30 and it's all caught up to me.
I went to a doctor, he gave me Naproxen (Aleve, which I take all the time...doesn't help) and I got a cat scan. Turns out, I have bone spurs on my vertebrae. He is referring me to a pain specialist, and said they will most likely recommend injections.
Now, I am new to this and have never been on any type of pain medication before, but would rather explore something like Hydrocodone or something before we jump straight to injections.
I feel like someone just trying to get pills if I specifically ask for something, so any advice on what I should do?
Thanks!
