I have had lower back pain forever...mainly because in my younger days I took a lot of abuse (car accidents, motocross riding, and various other things I did cause I was "invincible" Smile). now I'm 30 and it's all caught up to me.

I went to a doctor, he gave me Naproxen (Aleve, which I take all the time...doesn't help) and I got a cat scan. Turns out, I have bone spurs on my vertebrae. He is referring me to a pain specialist, and said they will most likely recommend injections.

Now, I am new to this and have never been on any type of pain medication before, but would rather explore something like Hydrocodone or something before we jump straight to injections.

I feel like someone just trying to get pills if I specifically ask for something, so any advice on what I should do?

Thanks!

I have the same thing the pain in my back is sometimes paralyzing, you just need to be honest with your doctor and let them know you would like to try the hydrocodone before doing the injections and they will be able to give you an honest answer if they think the hydrocodone is going to help. I have been on hydrocodone for a year though and it helps me sleep but as soon as the meds wear off, it is just constant pain. I am actually on my way to the doctor today! Good Luck

" so any advice on what I should do? "

First ask yourself, "Do I want to get better or cover up the problem with pills and injections?"
