I am 46 years old and have mammos twice a year all diagonostic and ususally with ultrasound. I had a mammogram 4 weeks ago, but they did not do a ultrasound this time. In the past week and a half my left breast is extremely sore and I have a slight dimple on the bottom outside of breast. I also noticed the blue veins are extended much more than the right. A bright red dot just appeared today right above a knot I feel. I do not know why an ultrasound was not performed, but I called my doctor and they are letting a nurse practioner see me today at 3:00. I am extremely nervous and want to be pro-active, what questions should I ask and what could this be?
Thanks for your time
