My husband and I are trying to get pregnant, but the catch is that he had a vasectomy done 15 years ago. I know the odds of success for vasectomy reversal decreases with the length of time lapsed post original surgery. Does anyone know of a specialist with a greater success record for vasectomy reversals? Or any advice that would help me to get pregnant naturally following a reversal(we prefer to avoid IVF if possible)?

Vasectomy Reversal
Hello,

We went to Dr Robert Woolcott who does the operation in both Newcastle and Sydney - my husband has the vasectomy 6 years earlier and we just found out that we are seven weeks pregnant my hubby was only reversed in Feb- so after the initial one month of healing it only took 2 months to concieve. I found that his success rates were clearly advised before we went ahead with the surgery and he was open and honest with our chances.

I always say give vasectomy reversal a go first - as it cost about the same as a couple of rounds of IVF but you can concieve as many children as you want after it works.

Best of luck with everything!
