Q: Various reasons for delayed or missed periods

Missed 2 months of periods. Negative blood and urine pregnancy test. Nausea, vomiting, and exhausted daily. Going for an exam in 2 weeks. Any ideas on what is going on with me?

With a negative blood and urine pregnancy test, it is unlikely that you are pregnant. However, a confirmed diagnosis will be by an ultrasound.

Hypothyroidism, contraceptive pills, and polycystic disease of the ovary can cause delayed or missed periods. Pituitary tumors secreting prolactin can also cause such problems. Anemia and poor diet are other reasons for delayed or missed periods.

Nausea and vomiting can be due to acidity or due to liver involvement in polycystic ovary. In a rare case, you may be pregnant.

Discuss these possibilities with your doctor when you go for your exam. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining you in person.
Hope this helps. Take care!
