asked by: DoctorQuestion on April 3rd, 2009
hi
i am a little worried. i have sat and reasearched so much, yet i am still so scared im not going to get pregnant . In aug of 08 i had a d&c to remove remains of my miscarrige (15wks along) i've had constant bacterial vaginous (Treated)with no history of std's). ive got brown dischage instead of menses, especially between these irregular cycles. Well, in oct 7 wks later after the d&c i had a period, the next month in nov, it was a little late and irregular. in dec a week before my menses i had brown discharge for a few days that vanished. afterwards i got a light menses (discharge like burgandy). in jan i was a week and a half late with the same discharge instead of my usual flow, brown(discharge) if i would estimate how much flow it was 2 pantyliners worth. in feb i have had the same thing - burgandy discharge that has landed me into march. i am still showing brown but super lite. i am having lite cramps like i am going to have it. is this low progestrone. it's been 7 months

According to the data you reported, you might be experiencing a hormonal imbalance.
It is not unusual for the body to need time to return to the previous hormonal fluctuations after a miscarriage. In certain women it takes less and in others, more. However, this imbalance usually does not indicate that the woman is infertile.

You might want to visit your gynecologist and have laboratory hormone tests done. Based on the results and your previous gynecological condition, he might be able to tell you when you might expect your menstrual cycle to fully return.

Treating an existing vaginosis before conceiving again is recommended because various bacteria increase the chances for a miscarriage.
