So this is my situation, it's kind of gross and really irritating. A few days ago I got what I think is a yeast infection, I was itching, irritated, there was white chunky stuff coming out of my vagina, and my labia majora was very swollen. I was just tested for everything, and I know I don't have any STDs. I also slightly douched with soap and water up there in the shower right before getting the symptoms, so it would explain it. I was very dry and it was pretty painful. Then after 3 days (I have been trying to treat this naturally) I started developing other symptoms. I now vacillate between extremely wet, green discharge mixed with the white yeast that comes out with it. Maybe I gave myself a bacterial infection from stuffing tee tree oil soaked tampons in there and apple cider vinegar? I don't know why it is all the sudden very green and wet. There is no odor though, the only odor is from the yeast. It smells like bread. I have heard that any color other than white is a sign of some other infection, but I have multiple symptoms and I don't know how to treat it. Another side note is that it doesn't look green coming out of my vagina, it is just really apparently green when I wipe it on a white towel. It is light green. PLEASE help me diagnose this. I would prefer to not have to take antibiotics and other over-the-counter treatments. I don't think all those chemicals are good for me in the long run. But if I happened to of given myself an infection from the natural treatments, then it may be my only choice... Antibacterials would be VERY counterproductive to the yeast infection though. Thank you!

Yeast Infection
I have had this on and off for 6 months! I have been to several doctors and been tested for everything!! I was diagnosed with BV and given metronidazole for 7 days, but I didn't have the greenish clumpy discharge when they diagnosed me. During the 7th day of my medicine, the greenish clumpy discharge came back with a vengeance and I immediately went back to the Dr. They did another microscopy on my discharge and it was, in fact, only yeast. The doctor then told me that it is not very uncommon for yeast infections to give some people green and yellow discharge. The problem is that there are many STDs out there that have these types of symptoms and you have to rule them out before thinking that it's just yeast. It drives me crazy to see people on websites saying that it has to only have a white discharge to be yeast when I've been to FOUR different gyno's and one specialist and they said it's not at all uncommon to even have a neon colored discharge with a yeast infection. As long as you go to the Dr and rule out STDs, you're fine.

So what came of this? This is pretty much what is happening to me. I've been treating my yeast infection with over the counter and prescribed stuff and the last three times on the last day I get a neon green discharge and a slight tingling and sore/redness until it eventually builds up and comes back with vengeance again. I got tested and no STD's. I'm at a loss though. I dont know what to do!!! My doctor said to take antibiotics as a suppository but it's not working!!! Has anything helped?!

Mine keeps coming back as well, however it does go away with diflucan and 7 days of clotrimazole cream. It's extremely frustrating because I never had the green discharge until I dated this guy who insisted on using a TON of spermicide henwe had sex. I haven't touched him in months, but wheneverI get a yeast infection, the discharge keeps turning green. The last gyno I saw told me that different types of fungus can react differently, and he has seen this many many times before.

Never Douche
1. Never douche. It messes up the normal acidity levels in the vagina.
2. Yeast infections are very common, ask a doctor to write a presciption for diflucan. It is a pill you take one times and symptoms should improve within 24-48 hours. This medication is part of the $4 program at Walmart- so cheap!
3. If the diflucan doesn't work, talk to your doctor again. The can prescripbe one final time, and then possibly hydrocortisone cream. But talk to a doctor.
4. Don't use cream first- it can cause further irritation and a flare-up.

Body shampoos, soaps, etc are quite alkaline and destroys a lot of the body's own good bacterias. Use ph balanced products to wash the private parts.

Eat plenty yoghurt to restore the flora balance. Plain fat free yoghurt can be used as a 'soap' to wash intimate areas and rinse off afterwards with water. This yoghurt can be applied inside the vagina as well. If any vaginal douche is used, rather dilute some yoghurt with water for this purpose.

If areas are swollen and itchy, ask your pharmacist for a betadine product to douche with, it works wonders and destroys a lot of bad stuff. Always follow up with the yoghurt to restore the natural flora balance.

Green vaginal discharge
Hi all,
I am very prone to yeast infections and had never had green chunky infections until recently.. when I was diagnosed with genital herpes:(
Common std tests DO NOT test for herpes.. you either have to have a sore to swab or have had it for a few months so they can do a blood draw to test for antibodies.
1 in 5 people have it, 85% of those people do not show typical symptoms. IF there is any tingling, itching in one location or body aches, sore throat, leg pain, etc that is unexplainable I would ask your dr to do a blood test for gential herpes (hsv-1 and hsv-2)
Hopefully this isn't what you're all dealing with but better to get checked than risk spreading it to someone else:(

Okay so, last month I got my annual and turns out, I had Chlamydia and I was treated for it and I barely had any symptoms and the discharge I did have was white. Recently, I had been taking amoxcillin from my dentist after I got m wisdom teeth removed and it gave me a yeast infection. My discharge was white and chunky at first and I did this treatment thing and now my discharge is green. I haven't had sex since before I got my annual and I am very confused at why my discharge is green

neon green discharge
Hi after a really stressful month (and very poor diet) I started to get light green almost neon coloured discharge. I have always suffered from yeast infections and grew up on fluconozole. I was really worried as everywhere online said that if it is green it indicates an infection, however, all my symptons were that of a yeast infection. itchy, uncomfortable, cottage cheese type discharge. I drastically changed my diet, I know they say take out all sugar however I went down another route and took out all fat and remained eating fruit. My diet for 3 weeks consisted on veg and fruit nothing else. I also drank apple cider vinegar, pau d arco tea, oregano oil. In the meantime I was tested for STDs and came back negative. Now I am a sucker for home remedies and read somewhere that garlic was great if you put a clove in you overnight. Now, me being me I decided to crush loads of garlic and set in it coconut oil the pop it in my vagina like a pessary and let it work its magic!!! well it did get rid of the yeast infection (along with everything else I was doing) however, the garlic got lodged in me and wouldn't come out!! I went to the hospital where I was on a bed for an hour with the gyno wiping me clean! it was so painful even the nurse was wincing. Now this is where I believe I messed up! the gyno scare mongered me in to raking really strong antibiotics as he said I had an infection, even though my discharge had gone and I felt great. But me feeling really sore and sorry for myself I went and got the antibiotics and started taking them. 2 days in to my 7 day course I decided to stop as I felt horrendous! The following day I had thrush (white this time) the 2 days later it was neon green!!! I was so annoyed with myself. I then got a phone call from the doctors to tell me that the swab the gyno took came back negative for any infections just a slight yeast infection (which was obviously from some of the discharge that was still mixed in with the garlic that he swabbed) Now I am back to square one and have to start the process all over again *she writes whilst sipping pau d arco tea and having just eaten some plain brocoli Smile Sorry for the long story I just wanted to let anyone know that is trying to figure out what is wrong with them, take the time to listen to your body, if it feels like a yeast infection then it most probably is! yeast can come in all different colours and can cause depression and anxiety (candida) so try not let it get to you but trial and error home remedies until you find whats perfect for you. Also I do believe diet plays a huge role so really look in to candida diets. *also if you are going to use garlic, which totally works, just use a whole clove that you can make in to a makeshift tampon using a needle and thread, do not crush the garlic up!!!! good luck ladies and remember to love your vagina even when it obviously hates you Smile

Hello ladies, I was struggling with a GREEN vaginal discharge it was thick but had no odor and there was a lot of it. I am in my twenties and I am not pregnant. I was so scared and worried I had an STD. I came online to look for answers and all I found was FEAR. Of course when I realized it wasn't going away it was a Friday and I wouldn't be able to get in to see a doctor until at least Monday. So my weekend was destroyed with fear and concern. Sex with my partner was definitely not happening. Finally, I went to the gynecologist and after they took a vaginal swab and performed a wet mount looking under a microscope the only thing discovered was yeast. So after all my green discharge with no odor was in fact only a gnarly yeast infection. I was given fluconazole 150mg I was told take one pill and then four days later take the second pill. It didn't clear up until 4 days later. That scared me too I was worried it wouldn't go away but thankfully it did. I am now symptom free and no longer freaked out about an STD so I wanted to get on here and share my story for someone who is worried their green discharge is an STD because that is not always the case I WOULD KNOW I HAVE BEEN THROUGH IT. So if you have this make sure you get checked for STDS to rule it out but don't self diagnose and worry yourself to death you will take years off of your life. It could just be a nasty ass yeast infection.
I wish all of you well<3
