thought I would post here while awaiting a return call from my surgeon... As soon as I noticed the rash, I stopped the Darvocet (in case it was an allergic reaction). The rash has spread slightly since yesterday. Benadryl has eased the itching.

I'm assuming this isn't life threatening because the doctor hasn't yet called me back (it has been 2 days), but would like some reassurance.

Anyone experience anything like this?

I need a little more information.

Where is this rash? Did it come after hysterectomy? Are you still in pain after stopping the Darvocet?

Is the Ibuprofen working?

It does sound to me like it is an allergic reaction. Good thinking on switching pain meds.

Did your doc call back? If you are really nervous, you could call the nurse's hotline. They have to supply you with some sort of answer. Either that, or they'll tell you to come in so someone can see you.
