I've been having some vaginal issued for about a month now. This may be long, but I would really appreciate it if some knowledgeable members would take a minute to try to help me out.

Ok, I'm 18 years old and am sexually active and have been for only 6 months. I've only been with one guy, my boyfriend, but he has been with a few girls. We've been together for a year. I've never seen anything strange on his penis and he's never had any of the symptoms that I'm having now, but I do know that sometimes women are more prone to showing symptoms than men.

About a month ago, I had some redness and irritation on my vaginal lips. I also had a little greenish discharge and some burning when I peed. I went to my family doctor and he took a look and prescribed me Flagyl for Vaginitis. I took about 3 days of the 7 day prescription, forgot about it, and then it came back. At that time I had another bottle called in and took the whole thing as I was supposed to. It was fine for awhile.

After a week or so, my vaginal lips started to get pretty red (like a sunburn) once and awhile, and then eventually went away. It didn't hurt or anything, but there was a minor itch. I went back to the doctor Friday, but I'm on my period so he couldn't do anything. He said he didn't know what it could be so he got me a gyno appointment...TWO WEEKS FROM NOW!

Yesterday I got a new symptom....REALLY bad itching/burning sensations on the outside of my vagina. So at that time I went to urgent care. He didn't look either, but gave me another bottle of Flagyl and a Diflucan pill in case of a yeast infection. He also told me to buy Vagisil for the itch, which I did.

The Vagisil helps the itch and I took the yeast pill and started on the anti-biotic again. Today I discovered a small painful spot on my inner labia. I can't really see anything, but it's painful to the touch. I've had bumps like that before, but they were ingrown hairs that came to a head, popped, and went away. But this one is in a spot that no hair grows.

Tomorrow I'm calling to see if I can get my gyno exam earlier than two weeks, but as of now, I'm freaking out, and so is my boyfriend. It's pretty painful, which is aggravating, and all of these problems are making me worry about things like herpes. I know no one on here can diagnose me for sure, but I just need some peace of mind.

Maybe the bump coming up in the midst of all the other problems is just a coincidence? I'm not sure. I don't want to wait 2 weeks. What if it gets even worse? I don't know what to do...

You can try calling your area's planned parenthood to see if they can fit you in earlier.

Has you boyfriend scheduled an STD test yet?

We don't technically have a "Planned parenthood" here, but we have a free clinic in what's somewhat of the ghetto...or as getto as SC can get. It's far from my work and I don't want to have to take two days off work. I can't afford to do that.

My boyfriend had an STD test (blood taken) after the last girl he had sex with before me. He tested negative for everything. But I don't know if things like HPV can lay dormant like that.
