I'M 18 YEARS OLD AND 3 DAYS AGO I STARTED HAVING UNCOMFORTABLE ITCH AROUND AND INSIDE MY VAGINA. I HAD PROTECTED SEX JUST A FEW DAYS BEFORE. I ALSO HAD SEX WHILE IT WAS ITCHING AND TINY BOILS APPEARED ON HIS PENIS. IT'S NOT BURNING AND I HAVE SLIGHT THIN WHITE DISCHARGE. I DON'T KNOW IF IT CAN BE CAUSED BY THE VAGASIL I'M USING. THE VAGASIL WORKS ONLY FOR A LIL BIT THEN IT ITCHES AGAIN. ANOTHER THING IS I CLEAN THE AREA WITH PROXIDE AND IT BURN AND STOP ITCHING FOR A WHILE. COULD IT BE A YEAST INFECTION OR AM I ALLLERGIC TO THE CONDOM??

yeah might be yeast infection. theres over the counter medicine for yeast infection (like canesten) it will temporarily relieve the itchiness for 3-6 months but it will come back again. I have little knowledge about this because i have consulted with my OB before. even if you have proper hygiene, you can still get this infection. Are you taking birth control pills? If so, you have to stop it and use other alternative. Moreover, if you are taking antibiotics, you can also develop it (im takingantibiotic for UTI thats why i experience same problem) i also tried vagisil but its not working for me and with research in internet i found out that one solution is by taking supplement with probiotics to fight the bad bacteria which develops not only in vagina but can also be developed in intestine or in other parts of your bodies. Try this one because before my period starts i felt like itchiness is coming back again and i decided not to consult with the OB (coz i consulted with her 2 times and its still coming back) i made some research and after 1 week of taking probiotics, itchiness stops. really its true Smile

Hope to have informed you well.

cranberry juice is also good for yeast infection. by the way how you are getting air down? Wink

also use cotton undies or better no undies at night (u can use boxer shorts or cotton pyjamas but make sure no insect in your bed), proper diet and try probiotic acidophilus. you can check it from health store near you. Smile

Cleaning with peroxide down there is a bad idea. Please, please stop. It can severely throw off the ph of your vagina and kill good bacteria that is needed. This can cause yeast infections and/or make them worse. It can also cause various other infections.

Really I would recommend going to your doctor to see what he has to say.

If this is a yeast infection (which it sounds like it may be), you need to get over the counter medication like Vagisil to treat it. It can take 1-2 weeks for symptoms to go away. Your boyfriend has to treat himself, too. If he doesn't, the yeast infection can be given right back to you and the treatment and waiting you have done will be useless. You can also get a pill that treats yeast infections by going to your doctor.

If you don't have the money for yeast infection medication, a remedy that works just as well is to take yogurt and place it in your vagina. The best way to do this is fill up an empty tampon applicator with yogurt and put it in the freezer. The cold from the yogurt will feel soothing, and the live cultures fight the bad bacteria and balance the ph in your vagina to get rid of the infection. Make sure you use plain yogurt, not flavored, with no sugars added at all.

Until the infection is cleared up, you should refrain from sex if possible so you don't irritate it.

Please do not write in all caps next time. Thank you

Sometimes wearing really tight clothing or underwear that's a material different from cotton can increase your chance of getting a yeast infection.

I'm thinking that's what she was referencing.
