Im an eighteen year old female and every day i have some amount of discharge from my vagina.

I wasn't too worried until my friend mentioned that it could be a sign of a sexually transmitted disease, since she said that i have had three tests and all have come up negative.

i have tried drinking more water and changing my shower gel etc...but nothing seems to work, some days there is a big amount n other days there is not that much.

Having gone to my doctor he has prescribed me all different typed of anti biotics for different things he think it may be, but again nothing has worked.

The discharge is white n creamy n some days more watery but it is always extremely foul smelling...any ideas?

Could be a yeast infection.
You can buy over the counter medication for this, but I would think that a doctor would be able to diagnose a yeast infection. Is it possible to speak with another doctor?

The consistency of what you are describing sounds completely normal. Women's bodies go through cycles with their cervical mucous/discharge. First you have your period, then it is very dry, then it becomes sticky, then creamy and abundant, then really slimy and stretchy. Eventually it'll become tacky/creamy/dry again (depending on the woman), and then she'll start her period.

Are you sure the smell is foul and not just normal vaginal smells? Discharge has a very distinct smell to it.

If you do not have a yeast infection or any other infections with swabs and your std tests came back negative, maybe it's just your normal bodily discharge.

I think i have this
im not to sure, im a young healthy 16 year old girl, when 3 weeks ago i got this yesslow discharge in my underwear. i had to wear a pad since then, it became really itchy, i itched it that much it started to bleed :\ then i had this white stuff making it more itchy. i thought this was just thrush. then 7 or so days later the itchness went and i came on my period. i came off just last week and i still have this yellow discharge, im also still wearing a pad.
i want to go to the doctors, incase there is something wrong but im embarassed that i would have to show the doctor. has anyone had this before?

what is a yeast infection by the way :\ ?

A yeast infection is just an infection where there's an overgrowth of yeast in the vagina. Your vagina has a balance of bacteria and when that balance is disrupted, then yeast can grow more than it should and can irritate around your vagina.

It's very common, and nothing to be embarassed about. You need to go to the doctor however to be sure that it's what you have. Smile

They don't always do a pelvic exam, but sometimes they do and it's probably a good idea to anyways. Don't be embarassed. Doctors have seen hundreds of vaginas and yours won't be any different. Wink

Have you had an exam before?

It would be a good idea to.
Don't worry. They are fairly quick and painless. And every woman gets them so it helps make it a bit less embarassing.

They will either just go ahead and do a full pelvic exam or they will just confirm you have a yeast infection or not.

Either way, wouldn't be a big deal.

If they do an entire exam they'll do a quick overview of your reproductive system. They'll check your ovaries and will do a quick pap smear. After that they'll show you how to do a breast exam.
