I changed to a new OBGYN to rule out cystocele/rectocele because I was still having problems with painful intercourse and constipation. She said things looked fine and ruled both out. I had intercourse 2 wks later and again with awful pain on the right side of my abdomen and bleeding both vaginally and rectally (not very heavy but needed a pad). This pain was the worst so far. Doubled over pain. I phoned the on call MD who suggested 800 mg of Motrin and Gas-x and to phone MD in am. I finally was able to relax and fall asleep about 7 hrs later. My new MD had me go have a internal pelvic ultrasound thinking twisted ovary. This US bought me to tears from the pain and the girl couldn't even find my overy due to so bloated. I saw the MD 2hrs later and she examined me stating that I needed to get to the ER ASAP or I could die. The entire vaginal cuff tore open and my intestines were starting to come threw. I had emergency sx and again out of work 6weeks. I'm greatful that I was seen and have my life but 3 MDs during my surgery said they have never seen anything like this happen 7 mths later. Maybe a week later but not 7 mths. Of course I am finding no ans as to why this happened. She saw me 2 wks prior and saw no problem. Has anyone known of this to happen and why?? Doctors wont turn on other doctors if in fact the 1st surgeon messed up. Please post any suggestions or thoughts. Thanks.

Was this after a hysterectomy? I'm sorry you went through that. I have never heard of this either. I am only 4 1/2 months posthysterectomy. I hope you get an answer. I'm afraid I can't help but I wish you luck!

Yes I had an abdominal hysterectomy with cervix and uterus removed 7 mths ago. I am going to request my medical records from the hospital where the 1st surgery was done and then the records from the 2nd surgery with my new doctor. I need to know why, It's my body and I don't want this to happen again!!! Thanks for your support.

I also had this happen, just in december, and was 4 months out from my hysterectomy. I am terrified this will happen again, and am still having pain. They can't tell me why this happened, or that it won't happen again, or why I didn't heal. All I know is that it was the most painful thing I ever went through, and I can empathize with you, and I hope you are feeling better by now.

I'm sorry to hear that anyone has to go threw this. Something that has been performed for years!! I was out of work 10wks due to being so fatiqued but I am glad to say that I am feeling better and am back to enjoying sex again. Still alittle apprehensive at times but really have not had that pain return. Still no answers as to why it happened but have your MD keep close tabs on you. One doctor told me to take Alli (weight loss tablet, fairly new) for my constipation. She said take one tablet daily and it really has helped. It breakes down the fat from food and helps eliminate waste. If anyone takes this just read the pamphlets!!!Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I am glad you are doing so much better! I think we are going to get another opinion, as when I saw my MD on Friday she said she wants to do surgery again. She said I have adhesions already, that the intestines have adhered somewhere on the left side, and that MAY be causing my pain that I still have. I don't know that I want to have another surgery, how are people supposed to heal? I had a blood clot in september in my ovarian vein, and in Dec when thie happened and had surgery, I have had loose stools since then, even taking pain pills at night to help with sleeping, since every time I roll over the pain is horrible. I have gone back to work, but I hurt every day. I am flustered that no one has thought to do any blood tests to see why I am not healing, or maybe it the coumadin for the clot that is causing me problems now. Who knows? I have bad luck for a 30 year old gal! =)

I would think that light normal would be OK...Otherwise, he would have told you to get off your feet...However, seeing you just had this on the 13th, I would be tempted to tell you to wait until 6th weeks before you have sex...Then take it easy with no heavy thrusting...Good luck...

OMG - so glad to find this thread - had a hysterectomy in Sept 08, 1st tear was in Dec - repaired in surgery in Jan 09, 2nd tear was in March w emergency surgery that day, now I am on my 3rd tear and I am TERRIFIED!!! MD wants me to have a different "set of hands" in this but the MD that he reccommends isn't available til the end of the month - they neither have obvoiusly felt the kind of paid that you experience when this happens - I am at a total loss for what to do or where to turn - any and all advise is welcome
