Sooo..I am a 18 year old, sexualy active female who is on birth control. I have been bleeding for this whole month, even though it is WELL pass the time when my period shoud have gone off...I have been passing clots, and tissue, and the blood is waaaaaaaay darker than my normal period. Recently it has dwindled down, but unfortunately, i am still cramping a little, and now I only really bleed if I have an orgasm....Does ANYONE know whatz going on? Crying or Very sad

Mmmm. If you have taken your bc correctly then you shouldnt be pregnant, but it could be a possibility. So maybe miscarriage.

Are you still steadily bleeding? If so how many tampons or pads do you fill each hour? Is this a new form of birth control? How long have you used this birth control? I bled for a whole month after I got off of the depo shot and lots of women have abnormal bleeding when they start or finish b/c.

I think the only reasons you should be bleeding like this is due to a miscarriage, new b/c, or right after a baby. I could be wrong but I think you should call your doc and ask if you should come in. You can never be too careful. If it was a miscarriage then I think the docs have to watch you closely. Again I am not too sure...Your best bet would be to ask a professional

Metrorrhagia
Any vaginal bleeding outside the period is called metrorrhagia. Generally, reasons for metrorrhagia can be functional and organic.

Functional metrorrhagia is caused by hormonal disbalance. Sometimes such disbalance can be caused by birth control pills.

Organic reasons for metrorrhagia can be infection, tumors (benign or malignant), endometriosis, miscarriage, injuries, foreign bodies etc.

You could consult your gynecologist about this.

Well, actually, this all started after My most recent period, I started it, and it never stopped...Prior to that, I had to pause on my birth control for a month, cuz my doctor put it in late, so my mom told me to wait so I could start it again on the day I wouda started the next pack. wen I finished with that pack angot my period, it was THE WORST perid I ever had...I could hardly walk, I was getting really hot....I was sick to my stomach.....the blood was close to the color black....and now I am still bleeding, but its more when I have an orgasm...

Then I would say its probably directly related to your birth control. The laspe of time between your packs could have thrown off your cycle and your body is still trying to get back to normal. If you are still worried then see your doc. I bled for a whole month but I knew that the depo would mess me up and eventually the bleeding stopped. Just keep an eye on your discharge and the amount of blood you are losing. If it keeps going and you see no signs of it stopping or slowing down then see your doc.

Hope it stops soon though ....i know how awful that can be. Also after the depo I had very very bad cramps. So the increase in period paid could also be from the birth control

I would almost definitely go and talk to your doctor about it. It sounds painful and not fun. They should be able to pinpoint what is going on and help you find a solution to slow and/or stop the bleeding.
