Hello I had spinal fusion L5-S1 in 2004 and again in 2006 I have drop foot and rods and screws in my back . And now I am pregnant , will I be able to have a vaginal birth or will I have to have a C-section ?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

Normally a spinal fusion surgery will have no effect on the outcome of pregnancy. Normal delivery is possible. However, individual case may vary. You must let your gynecologist know about this surgery if you are pregnant. Hope this helps. Take care!
