Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

Vaginal itch with smell can be due to bacterial vaginosis, yeast infection, trichomoniasis or due to gonorrhea. You may not have had sex but skin to skin contact can transmit STD. Hence it is important to take a swab best. Take anti-inflammatory analgesic to reduce the pain and an antiallergic.

You can apply OTC antifungal and take oral metronidazole and see. If it is fungal or bacterial vaginosis then this will get cured. However despite previous bad experience, it is important to consult a good gynecologist. There are good sensitive doctors out there to help you.

Please do not let a past experience mar your future life. Hope this helps. Take care!
