For about the past week or so, my vagina has been extremely itchy, red, and I've had almost a permenant discharge. I'm a virgin so it cant be an std or pregnancy..I did some research on vaginitis, and it sounds similar. Does anyone have any ideas? I really really dont want to discuss this with anyone in person, and i cant go to the doctor because I'm not 18. What will happen if this goes untreated? Thanks.

Vagnitis is a generic term that can mean yeast infection, trichomoniasis or bacterial vaginosis. If left untreated, a yeast infection will probably clear up on its own in time. (There are also certain foods that you can eat to help clear up a yeast infection- yogurt and probiotics.) Bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis left untreated make a person vulnerable to other sexually transmitted diseases and sexually transmitted infections including pelvic inflammatory disease and HIV.
I realize that you are a virgin but I strongly suggest that you see a doctor and get this cleared up. If you're absolutely unwilling to go to a doctor, you should get a yeast infection test kit to see if this is your problem.
