Q: UV lamp exposure

Hello every one

With all the public awareness about cancer a lot of people are getting rather paranoid, such as my self.
I know that prolonged exposure to UV rays increases the risks for some life threading malignancies such as skin cancer.
My main concern is this; last night my room mate bought one of those UV air tower purifiers that had an UV lamb in it think its supposed to kill germs.
My question is; will this small UV bulb, which is small, damage me in any way? I keep it away from my bed but still its there.
Please if you have any insight on the matter I would appreciate it.

Extremely eHealthy

The most practical application of UV light in the home or office is in the main air distribution (heating and/or air conditioning) system.
Talk about this with your room mate, and that way you want be concern for direct exposure to eyes or skin.

Sorry I didn’t quite understand your reply.
Are you saying that an UV lamp in an AC or in my case air purifier poses no risk?
Sorry if I needed a bit more elaboration.

I think it cause skin ancer ...but Iwant to know ...if I exposed to it directly on my skin ...for 2 hours for one time ...what is the risk of it on me ???
