what could this be ? Could it be a urinary tract infection? would that cause a fever?? She's only 4! Could too much juice cause this?? She has a dr appt, however right now she is on CareSource (which is 'welfare' insurance) and more then once they have treated my children different b/c the insurance they are on (only reason is b/c my work does not offer health benefits! I am a working single mom, I do my best). I just want to get an opinion of someone who won't treat my daughter different just b/c the insurance coverage.

Kidney Conditions Answer A4653
Given your daughter's symptoms (blood in the urine, difficult urinating and fiver) she could be experiencing a urinary tract infection. She needs blood/urine analyses and an abdominal ultrasound. Microbiological examination of the urine can identify the infective agent and can help doctors to choose a proper antibiotic. A urinary tract infection may not be alone so an abdominal ultrasound is required to reveal if there are additional disorders of the urinary tract like a stone, tumor, or bladder-ureteral reflux.

You may want to consult a pediatric nephrologist about your daughter's condition.
