I'm a 15 year old female and for the past few years I've been having problems with my bladder. I constantly have to go pee but when I go not very much urine comes out. A few months ago I had this incredibly painful sensation from where i pee and it only stopped when i urinated. I went to the doctor and he didn't believe i had a uti or anything..he did prescribe me 3 days of medication (ciprofloxacan 500mg) which he said would be enough for it to go away. The pills didn't work though. If it's not a UTI what is it? Please help and thank you.

Oh my goodness!!!
OK firstly, I have to say this... Ciprofloxacan is BAD! It can cause lots of long term issues (huge damage to bones/joints etc.) and if you read up about it, you'll find that one of the KNOWN side effects is "Death on first dose!".

Secondly, it sounds to me like you have the beginnings of an infection (doctors are only human and not always correct) depending on where you were tested, you will probably find that a lots of the time, the tests are rushed and so do not find the bacteria that cause UTI's since these, when done properly take about 6 days because they need to make a broth to allow the bacteria to develop into larger amounts in many cases.

If you can hold the urine in longer when you get the urge, it will help to prevent your bladder from shrinking, which would make the problem worse.

....You know, I'm feeling VERY angry about your doctor.... Why on earth would he give you something as strong as Ciporfloxacin if he didn't even think that you had a UTI in the first place.... What a b*s*a*d!

....Sorry, it really gets to me.

I think that you should try using something like Waterfall D-Mannose which is a natural product that won't cause you any harm, it WILL however flush away any harmful bacteria when you pee, and it acts as a natural anti inflammatory which would give you some light relief from the pain.

I really, really hope that you get well soon. Your post has made me feel rather emotional about the whole thing.

Please feel free to PM me if you would like any support. I suffered for a long time because of so called doctors 'anything to shut you up' attitude, but I'd be more than happy to help you in any way I can.

Lots of love,

Chiyaki.

Thank you for your help. :] I had no idea Ciprofloxacan was that bad, or you could even overdose on it. I will try this Waterfall D-Mannose. Thank you for helping me. <3

uti-priscription ciprofloxacn 500mg for 7 days this diagonosis
i,went to see my internest ,he ask for a urine speciment ,i was called the following day ,and was informed that i,had a UTI, surprised ,as i,am not sexually active, and did not have any symptoms, within one day, returned to my dr.and was given a priscription for ciprofloxacn-i was frightend i,filled the priscription ,even in my heart,i knew that i,did not have any such infection,on my visit in seven days,i was told that my urine test was good ,before my dr.told me that there was pus cells, when i, know that my urine sample was clear, and i felt fine ,however my gyn pap test was fine my gyn hpv test was normal-to be honest i have lost confidence in a dr.that i onec tought was caring to come to a conclusion tat medication as strong as ciprofloxacn was given to me without the proper culture which would have taken a few days to come to this conclusion, this has been very upsetting to say the lease -thanks jal
