I had an 11 pound baby 10 months ago, and since then I have had pretty consistent symptoms of a UTI in addition to rectal and/or vaginal bleeding. There is pain and discomfort associated with the bleeding but it is not excessive. My reproductive parts are consistently sore and sometimes feel heavy. I was checked for hemorrhoids and the doctor didn't find any. He suggested a colonoscopy, which I haven't followed up on. Any idea what could be going on?

Hi,

Welcome to the ehealthforum. I am really pleased to help you out. You need a physical examination by a gynaecologist to rule out any local injury/tear in the vagina/cervix at the time of the delivery which might be causing all the symptoms which you are going through.

An ultrasound of the pelvis should also help in delineating the cause of the pain & discomfort you’re going through. A urine analysis/urine culture will help in knowing the status of the urinary infection. In case, it is there, a course of antibiotics will facilitate the treatment of the UTI.

It is very difficult to diagnose online without physical examination and will thus suggest you to consult a gynaecologist. I sincerely hope this information helps. Take care.
