Q: uterine polyps

i recently went for a smear and the nurse said i had a polyps on my uterus.(although i dont think i have any symtoms, maybe occ discharge).so i now have to go to my hospital on the 23 rd of this month.what happens there ?will they remove it ? will it hurt? does it take long?
