Hysterectomy Answer A3843
Fibroma of the uterus usually refers to myoma - a benign tumor that originates from the smooth muscle tissue in the uterus. Myomas are hormonally dependant tumors and they grow faster during the pregnancy. If the myoma is located inside the uterus’s cavity it can cause sterility or, if pregnancy occurs, it can cause miscarriage or premature birth. Myomas located out from the uterus (sub-serous) can become necrotic and can cause acute abdomen which is a life threatening condition that requires immediate surgical intervention. You can request myoma removal before getting pregnant.
You may want to consult a gynecologist about this.
