Current medical status: I do believe I have ezema due to my niece with a severe case and my nephew with randon flares I know what it looks like. I had an initial heat rash on my neck which cver time I beleive turned into a reaction a ezema. I then used protopic ointment 0.03% alongside the 0.05% also. Over a 1-3 month period my neck was broken out I used the ointment maybe 2 weeks with extraordinary results. My skin was completely cleared up and as of now I have a slight dryness after showering which I treat with lotion no roblem. Afterwards and outbreak happened on my hips which was like a rash but with small welts I think occruing from scratching. (which I thought was the same as on my neck minus welts from scratching). I tried not to wear a belt aas much as possible due to irration, while using the protopic and aquaphor moisturizer (vaseline like) which over time also cleared but the problem is the discoloration and it hasnt completely healed but for the most part is. I asked someone before and they told me I may need something stronger the the protopic because im and adult an that is more so for young teens.I have also switched soaps, from initially cetaphil, to dove to oil of olay cetaphil being the best. From the past I have noticed fragrances dry my skin out too.
Current medical treatment: Protopic ointment (atfer showers) and aquaphor moisturizer (as needed) usual 1-2 time daily
Protopic is not a steroid but contains medicine that, like steroids, also causes immune suppression.
You should consult a dermatologist if you have used Protopic for more than 6 weeks.
Protopic should be used together with moisturizing cream or lotion.
