I was on a rollercoaster for 5 years. I was on effexor, depakote, lithium, thorazine, risperdal, paxil, prozac, etc. I even had 2 months of ECT treatments. I am assuming that you are at the end of your rope, the nausea you experienced in the past as crippling. You were dreading it returning and it did. Now you are possible stuck in a loop, your dread of the nausea causes you to become anxious, which in turn causes the body to react, sending the nerve stimulation through the body, causing nausea. Its been a long ordeal, from others I have gotten sympathy, apathy and contempt. One friend told me it was all in my head and I should just get over it. While I have compassion for what you went through, I am glad to hear I am not alone in this kind of situation. Honestly, the doctors are damn clueless.
Went to a psychologits yesterday, she believes the lingering nausea is in fact Generalized Anxiety Disorder. The trauma of the 14 day illness triggered the anxiety, which in turn caused the continued nausea.
