Well, unfortunately I am back at square one. The eagles syndrome that the neurologist was so sure i had was not confirmed on the x-rays, they showed the elongated styloid but not to the degree he thought they might. I feel like I am not getting anywhere with these doctors. Neorologist sent me to a surgeon, to look into possible Eagles Syndrome. The ENT surgeon acted like there was no such disease and sent me fot a CT scan. On examining me he couldn't find anything. I brought a mountain of x-rays, they dont seem to show much. It does hurt to chew, BUT, it is not a joint problem. The tmj specialist was confounded and never was able to help me. A neurologist is the one I got this diagnosis from. According to the doc is is EXTREMELY rare to have pain from it, even tho a small percentage of people do have an elongated styloid process. This neurologist is suposed to be quite amazing. One thing I didnt like was the Neurontin he had me try, I was so spaced out! I really dont need another drug in the mix!
