It could be a biological reaction. I had it too, but mostly because i was allergic to gold....but i heard that sometimes it happens because the piercing somehow changes something in your biological structure...
well I had this condition for a while as well. But it usually happens when the weather changes or i experience too much moisture. hmm since you are self employed...as long as you have two full term employees (if you have a spouse perhaps a co ownership) you can qualify for group health insurance which takes all health conditions (even cancer) it doesn't matter whether you have had it already or not.

I just though I should let you guys know that there is an insurance agency that caters to the Asian American population. I found it much easier to deal with them since their agents are highly familiar with Asian cultures, physical conditions, habits, and other cultural/racial issues.
