Birth Control And Depression
Birth Control on 02-09-2007
I think all hormonal birth control has a possibility of affecting your mood. I mean, on some level, you're tricking your body into thinking you're pregnant. Many pregnant women complain of being highly emotional. There's probably a connection. I don't think it matters if it's the pill, patch, ring, shot, norplant or mirena iud, there's ... more

Anaesthesia And Iud Insertion?
Birth Control on 02-03-2007
Thanks so much for the info! I'll ask the doc if I can have some pain drugs prescribed for after. It's very comforting to hear that the clinic isn't using me for a lab rat. i'm really looking forward to getting the copper iud in (no more hormonal woes!) but I was very concerned when the other place said they'd never heard of it. Implantation Or Period?
Birth Control on 02-03-2007

You might consider an alternative like the nuvaring if you're having trouble remembering to take your pills. However, when you stop taking birth control pills mid cycle it's common to have an 'unscheduled' reduced period within a few ... more

Anaesthesia And Iud Insertion?
Birth Control on 02-03-2007
Background: i've been on hormonal birth control for five years and i've tried many different pills, including the nuvaring. While on the pill, i've had extreme breast tenderness, persistent migraines, dizziness, and moodiness. I'd reported this to different physicians over the years, only to be told that those are normal effects, and ev... more
