The pill can cause irregular spotting in the first six months or so. If you don't want to deal with it then it's worth switching brands or trying another type of birth control so the best advice I can give is speak to your Dr or family planning clinic and see what they suggest.
Taking ECP can mess up your cycle. It's pretty effective but if you're worried then take a test.

Knowing this means acting responsibly and not putting yourself in the position for an unwanted pregnancy. Now, I do understand the use of birth control is not 100% effective.
