Many times twisted pelvis (ilium upslip/rotated innominate) causes scoliosis and tension to whole body. Once pelvic malalignment is corrected by manipulation pains are gone. If you only correct spine with surgery you don't correct the cause of pains. Scoliosis is just an symptom, not the cause.
