Anyone else have recurrent tonsillitis as a symptom of mono??
EAnne13 / Mononucleosis on 04-11-2012 13:59pm
Yes! I did NOT have mono... just a bizarre case of tonsillitis that was very persistent! My bloodwork looked great - little low on platlets, but that's it. Even after the third antibiotic, it took forever for me to feel normal again. I went in a month later for follow-up, and the ENT said I definitely looked better. I just have cryptic tonsils... more

Weird Looking Tonsils
EAnne13 / Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders on 01-22-2012 13:44pm
I think they're crypts... From what I hear they're pretty common and sometimes they can get massicely infected (I'm dealing w/ that right now - no fun!). The PA and my ENT doc told me that crypts are no problem if they don't get infected. But if you're concerned, I'd definitely check with your Primary Care or and ENT!

Hi there....Just curious if anyone has dealt with anything similar... It started right after Thanksgiving - I came down with tonsillitis and was perscribed Amoxicilin (sp?). I don't even think I paid close enough attention to tell if it ever fully went away or not, but I noticed within a week or two after I finished the script that I still had som... more

EAnne13 / Mononucleosis on 01-19-2012 11:59am
Hi there...Was curious if anyone else had a similar situation to mine. I had mono several years ago (when I was about 12 - I'm now 29). I've had a pretty bad case of tonsillitis on and off for about 8 weeks now. My GP didn't understand why it wasn't going away after 2 rounds of antibiotics, so he sent me to and ENT. Went to ENT the other day, a... more
