Avoid complex carbohydrates and sugar. Things like bagels, non whole grain breads, pop, cake, etc. all contain complex carbohydrates.
Keep it simple and choose lean meats, lots of vegetables, some fruit, and a little bit of grains like porridge and a quality brown rice.
