I am 21 weeks pregnant and the doctors at maternal fetal medicine are suggesting that I get a growth ultrasound. I have type 1 diabetes, but so far they said everything looks and sounds normal. I was wondering why they would want a growth ultrasound this early if everything is fine. Is it really necessary?
