Angry With News Topic Eating Less to Live Longer
Eating Disorders on 12-06-2003
I agree!!! I almost died twice of starvation from anorexia. I'm sure I shortened my life span with all that craziness. However, the headlines about eating less are aimed at the general public, most of whom do eat way too much of the processed, fatty, sugary foods. I try to ignore all that nutrition advice because i'm not "normal" (even now i... more

Eating Disorders on 12-06-2003
I have always resisted medication because I wanted to recover as naturally as possible. For a while I took prozac but it made no real difference. But please don't blame yourself for your friend's death. Once this disorder gets its grip, no one on earth can loosen it. I almost died twice despite all of the lo... more

Atkins Diet on 11-22-2003
We should have a forum on other diets, not just hi-protein atkins. Right now I am taking the opposite tack and eating low-fat, balanced (lean proteins, complex carbohydrate, few processed foods) meals. I'm not trying to lose weight, just get healthy. I wonder who else out there is working on "real food" as opposed to all the weird atkins low ca... more

Nutrition on 11-22-2003
:d thanks to both of youfor your thoughtful responses. I decided to give it all i've got in recovery so i'm eating a little organic turkey & wild salmon, in addition to eggs (the omega-3 kind --- great nutrition!). I feel physically stronger already, although i'm still feeling psychologically a bit guilty. But you are right, eating animals ... more
