I agree about seeing a Dr. Now - before you're ready to conceive.
An infertility specialist will help you learn why you're not menstrating regularly.
They will probably do some bloodwork to check your thyroid hormones - they can effect ovulatory health.

I have experience bloating, pms type pain starting on day 11 or so, and continuing through the cycle. I also had sharp pains during my ovulation, and some cramping after the iui. I was definitelysore, and had trouble walking during the peak.

The dye test is commonly called an hsg. I had one after doing several cycles of clomid and before using gonal-f injections. It was slightly painful, but no worse than the bloating of a bad period.
I have pcos, and don't regularly ovulate. However, we were lucky enough to conceive 7 years ago by accident, so we're hoping for #2.
