What on earth did your Dr. Tell you besides your disc was out? Five mos. Of numbness is a long time. I changed my shoes to flats because the really supportive tennys that I was wearing put my calf into spasm and barefoot is the most comfortable. My achilles tendon had been shortened by the shoes and it agrivated things.

Evidently this particuar problem is hereditary. Both my oldest son and daughter have herniated this particular disc.

Sounds more like obsessive-compulsive dissorder to me. Go to a psych. They have good drugs for this now.
Had a customer that had narcolepsy. Do you feel as if you loose control of your muscles during these periods? Does it happen if you become emotional, either happy or sad? Emotion tends to be a trigger.

Have developed sciatica due to a bad gait and arthritis in the opposite knee so that I lean on the right all the time and have developed a strange gait. My massage therapist, who also does acupressure sent me to a place that does orthotics. The new shoes feel wierd but help.

I also had a bad gall bladder attack at easter after a really high fat meal. I had been having (hot bolfball) symptoms the week before and should have known better.
