Shouldice Hospital is receiving 10,000 emails a day from all over the world, and (I assume) hundreds of phone calls. Their "customers service" can be slow, understandably. Mentat - "care" is not a concern, AFAIK. They do monitor you closely for 5 hours post-op, and then monitor loosely during 3 days stay there. What you should be concerned with, is a probability of chronic pain after the surgery.
