I had the cage on my 3rd surgery at L5-S1. Don't!!! It failed and has now moved and is pushing on a nerve making my foot paralyzed. If you have to have surgery, do it the old fashion way with fusion. It worked great on my neck in 1992. The cage also makes MRI's and CT's useless. The only way to see what's up in there later is a myelogram. Afte... more
Has anyone had a BAK Cage removed from there lumbar? I had 3 surgeries, the last being the BAK Cage which now seems to have moved some and is pressing a nerve making it so I can not move my toes on my right foot. I'm being sent to a surgeon, but my doctor said the surgeon may not want to work on me because I have had too many surguries?? Any inf... more
I'm sorry to say I had a BAK Cage at L5-S1 14 years ago after 2 lamonectomies. I have been in pain and on pain meds since! Now my right foot is im-moblie and it appears my case has moved or is not stable. I had the old fashion fusion on my neck in 1992 and it is great!!!NO CAGES... Hoping to have mine removed this year.
