If you overfill a crown with cement, then push it down onto the tooth, the excess cement is going to gush out around the margin of the crown leaving a mess for you to clean up. Hot is not usually a good sign. Could mean the tooth is dying. If it hasn't been that long since the crown was put on and biting isn't hurting I'd give it a little more time. Obviously, if thinsg get worse call your dentist.

2 things... Small seeds among other things can easily get trapped under the gum causing a lot of soreness. SO that may be the problem. When was your last cleaning? Are you flossing? If not, it could be the result of tarter building up or getting stuck deep under the gums. But with this you would usually have bleeding. This is more of a dental concern rather than medical but it's so uncommon and as you will read treatment/diagnoses etc is difficult. It's also pretty uncommon. In my 14 years practicing I have only seen it once.
