Actually, in response to your question, I had a cortizone injection, and it's really not that bad. They numb you up and a nurse sits with you to make you feel more comfortable. I went for my cortisone shots last week, and still not much relief. It felt great the first few hours, until the local anestetic wore off. I'm still on the Vicodin, and my insurance wont pay for Lyrica, which used to work VERY well, but I ran out. So they put me on Neurontin for the nerve pain. Exactly what kind of female problems occur with this shot? Menstrual cycle problems, sexual side affects, etc? Let me know so I know what to expect...LOL.
Thank you for the advice! I will definitely look into getting the sedation. They did mention giving me something to relax me before the procedure is done, which could be just as effective for me. I'm going to look into it too, and I already have someone lined up to drive me there and home afterwards.

I agree, Fran. My chiropractor wasn't doing anything to help this for me either, so I've stopped going. I figured by him adjusting me in 3 seconds when I go there, it's probably not doing my back any good right now since I have other issues going on with it.
