Increasing the dose may help. For example, if you're taking 20 mg daily, double up to 40 mg. Also, twice-a-day dosing may be warranted, if the pain continues: 40 mg A.M. and 40 mg P.M.
But before casually increasing the dose you may want to think about avoiding foods and beverages that can aggravate GERD.

Risek is pretty safe. So don't worry about taking daily. As far as Ceclor, the medical literature reports rare (I repeat, rare) incidents of hepatic (liver) toxicity.
