If Taking Prednisone, Plaquenil, Cellcept - Alcohol!!!!

Hi

I have just been prescribed Plaquenil and it states in the information to "avoid alcohol". I know certain anti-malarial drugs do affect the liver so I am now really confused about whether it is OK or not. Has anyone asked a physician or a pharmacist? I will be doing so soon.
