The gallbladder is in the right upper quadrant, not left, however, sometimes the pain radiates. If your Hida scan results are only 5%, then that's barely functioning. I would get a second opinion, not because your surgeon is wrong or anything, but because when you're dealing with possible surgery, it's wise to get the opinion of two or more doctors... more

Well, the hernia itself shouldn't cause any diarrhea and the pain shouldn't be in the lower abdomen-meaning in the navel region (see if that's not from gluten, wheat, dairy and other food allergies).
