I too have EDS and TMJ. I used to work with at physical therapist who treated TMJ. All of her patients loved her and talked about how great the treatment was and how much it helped. My TMJ was just developing at the time so I was never treated by her. Maybe PT could help though. They may be able to offer some exercises to improve stability or ... more

You should be checked by a genetic doctor. I would take your sister with you so they can compare you if they want to. You may not like the sound of that but if it helps with a diagnosis then I'd do it anyway. If nothing else then a genetic doctor can tell you what your chances are of passing it along to a child. I also have EDS and just recently found out that I have a vitamin D deficiency so I'm taking 4 vitamins 3 times a day to help. The lack Vit D somehow can interfere with the iron in your blood and if you have low iron then you'll faint a lot. Shortness of breath can be caused by a lot of things. Birth control pills can cause some problems but with shortness of breath it would probably be a blood clot and unless you've been really inactive or just recently had surgery then I wouldn't think that would be it. If you read the prescribing information/drug fact sheet that comes with the pills it tells you to use additional protection during certain times....like the week after you start your period.
