Gout Attack - 4 Weeks Duration!!! Suggestions?!

1/2 tsp of baking soda in a glass of water every 2 hours plus 100% cherry juice concentrate every 4 hours. drink a glass of water every hour or so. colchicine won't help you now. check out goutpal.com for more info. i had the exact same thing and as soon as i started the baking soad and cherry juice it started to get better.

I haven't found the time to take the urine test yet because i am either working/coaching/taking the kids to their activities/etc. i can't just take out that huge jug or even a small container if i'm on the go. hopefully i'll be able to take the 24 hour accumulation in the next couple of weeks. If 90% of gout patients are under-excreters and 10% are over-producers why are the majority of people prescribed Allopurinol which is used to treat over-production? Probenecid is the drug designed to help people excrete uric acid through urination more effectively.
