The rash that some of you are discussing is caused from the mono virus itself- not neccessarily from the antibiotic. However, taking amoxicillin or ampicillin could make it much worse. Essentially, you were likely to suffer the rash common in mono regardless that you were prescribed amoxicillin and took it.
