I think the medication your Dr may have prescribed is Lyrica, a drug from Phizer.
It's basically a drug designed for siezures, but it also affects the nerve transmissions for pain. Another drug used in similar pain mangagement is Neurotonin / Gabupentin.
Good luck- don't rush off to surgery.

Want to know something funny? I posted the same question to a doctor as i did the open forum, and he said I was addicted to 'Tramadol and Vicodin.' When I have never even taken the vicodin for my pain, until today. (Still no relief.)

I agree w/ painsucks that a mattress will not cure anything; it's really about finding a mattress that you seem to sleep well on.
A couple notes: "Temper-pedic" - the name brand is actually the "original" - NASA patented material.
