It's possible a nerve got damaged during the process, also it could be a temp situation. It might be some of the smaller nerves that are being affected.
If it doesn't get better contact your doctor.

Please do not let the doctors use any kind of mesh on your son to repair his hernia, he's young enough that they can do the old fashion repair.

Contact your surgeon, if you think you have a blockage it is important to get treatment.

When did they remove the catheter from you, was this morning before you came home? If so the catheter can cause complications with urination.

You're best bet is to contact the surgeon.

Is it possible for you to speak with surgeon/doctor who wants to operate on your mom? Ask him/her how the hernia is going to be repaired? If the doctor is going to be mesh used? Hi

Sorry to hear you are feeling this. It sounds like the mesh or perhaps scar tissue. Many of us who have/had mesh implanted in us feel this same thing.
Please find out what type of mesh was used to repair your hernia.

I would also consult with the surgeon.
