About the "pumping iron" - you should check with your doctor about how much weight you should actually be lifting with that arm prior to surgery. But there are firming and stretching exercises that don't require weights; maybe you can get more info. On these on a search engine like yahoo, or google.

Hi! I am a 24 year old female and I suffer from terrible hip pain and sciatica. I also have scoliosis and a metal plate and 8 screws in my right femur. I am on methadone as a painkiller, and it works to a point, but some days I can not get rid of the pain. I am also taking bextra as an anti-inflammatory, and zanaflex as a muscle relaxor.

I noticed that you are from michigan. I am from the upper peninsula, and up here I see a lot of people get depressed in the winter time. There is an illness called seasonal depressive disorder, where people get "depressed" from the lack of natural sunlight (which we don't get a lot of here in the u.P. In the winter time).
