Yes Fibro seems to be a catch all diagnosis these days and that is frustrating. There are many people that truly have fibro and to just lump bunches of people into that group really down plays the seriousness of the disease.

It sounds like you need to get a second and maybe even a 3rd opinion as to what is going on and what is causing your pain.
X-rays are not a good method of determining spine issues. MRI is needed.

One should never, ever combine any kind of meds, including OTC meds without the direction of their doctor.
Your girlfriend's doctor has given her excellent advise. Just because something has been shown to work in some studies, doesn't make it safe or safe for everyone.
Her idea is very, very dangerous and shouldn't be done.

Sounds like you have some nerve compression, maybe coming from your lumbar spine.
I suggest you consult with a spine specialist for an evaluation, either an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in spines or a neurosurgeon that specializes in spines only.

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings to you. But the odds of your back pain increasing is all but 100%.
Back pain, in and of itself, is a common problem with pregnancy. If you are already suffering with back pain, then it would increase.
