Hi kathy me and my husband are hoping to try for a baby soon. I was on epilim and tried changing to topamax but had really bad side effects so just back on epilim. Hello annette i tried taking topmax and got to 100mg per day but had to come off it. I had bad side effects and was told they would just get worse if I stayed on it. Actually I have found more info on this type of epilepsy which says it can start at age 8 - think it may be of interest to you: juvenile myoclonic epilepsy can develop between 8 and 26 years of age, but occurs mainly between 12 and 16.
