I am currently 55 years old. I was stricken with polio from the waste down at age 3. I have always worn full length metal braces. I have a full time job of 31 years as a human resources specialist but the stress is become too much. I have fallen many times and just recently had tendon surgery to left arm. I have worn out right shoulder from lifting from chairs and doing other heavy activities due to limation of left arm. Muscle weakness and waist has become severe in lower extremities and upper extremities are becoming affected. I recently attempted suicide and have been diagnosed major depression and social anxiety. I have been told I cannot get social security disability because I must be out of work 12 months or longer. If I did that I could lose everything I have worked so hard to achieve. Psychitrist is currently trying to find the right medication for me but so far nothing has worked except for the Xanax.
